What is anger? Is it the domino effect of a series of misunderstandings and outbursts, piling higher and higher until the tension must be relieved? Is anger the result of opposing opinions coliding due to their differences? A stressed soul seeks relief, and only finds it in the obscured faults of other people, making those faults more visible. True, I remain a naive teenager, but it appears to me that anger is 80 percent of the time the result of two people experiencing a misunderstanding. Most of the time these people are innocent enough, but in most cases are too conscious of what they think is right to obsorb themselves in the viewpoint of the other. So really, what is anger, and why does it occur so often? Isn't life too short to cause such depression? Are any of us faultless in the eyes of everyone, for it seems to me that that is impossible. And you know what the main question is here? AM I MAKING ANY REMOTE SENSE??!
I think so.
Weaseldance I see anger as pure feckin frustration that builds until you are unable to control it any longer...and you made a crucial mistake in depression anger is usually rare, unless your talking about manic depression.
Hmm with depression you cannot bring yourself to care sufficently about anything to be angry...I think the reason society is becoming increasingly angry is they are surrounded by situations they cannot control, this in turn causes fear and stress culminating in outburts of irrationalanger..society has become far more insular and selfish..as a result people feel isolated ignored and forgotten. At times I feel very PO'd by this and relieve it by hammering a punch bag...
I have heard it said though that depression is just anger turned inward instead of outward. Just my two cents.
that's true in a sense with depression caused by lets say stress, but really dark, overwhelming, depression: is crippling, the person often cannot function at all..
Aren't punching bags the best? In my final year of high-school, when the atmosphere in the boarding house was like a pressure-cooker, and frustration just increased exponentially along with the stress, I got really familiar with the punching-bags down in the rowers' training room. *g*
They are fantastic not much fun however for the poor fecker who has to hold the thing...smile I also like to aim several hard kicks at it which usually culminates in an undignified sprawl on the floor...lol
